#Oats roti and paan chutney

 



    If you want to eat lavishly without the fear of putting on more weight then try oats roti with paan or betel leaf chutney in pure desi way!

    Dry roast white oats and powder in mixi. Add water, salt, chopped coriander leaves to knead the dough and roll like chapati. Cook both sides on tawa with little oil. Believe me it is very easy and you will love the aroma while you cook oats rotis.

    Oats is good source of fibre and good anti oxidant.

    Paan or betel leaf chutney goes well with oats rotis. But try this only if you are a paan lover. Recipe is quite simple. Roast paan leaf pieces in cooking oil with cumin and blend with coconut, green chilli, tamarind, salt and water. Season with mustard and cumin. Yummy desi paan chutney with anti diabetic property is ready. As you know paan is good for oral hygiene also.

#Suvarnagadde sukka

 



 

Suvarnagadde or elephant yam is a rich source of fiber and  detoxifying agents as well as it reduces cholesterol levels in blood. It is commonly used to cook sambar or bhaji. Here is a simple sukka recipe which is kids favorite..
Cleaning and slicing of elephant yam turns to be little tricky as some may have itching and numbness. To overcome this we need to soak the cubes in salt water with tamarind. This neutralizes calcium oxalate crystals responsible for itchiness.
   Boil the slices in tamarind water slightly and then remove the water. Mix with rava, chilli powder, salt, oil and fry in a pan for few minutes to get yummy suvarnagadde sukka!
