To make your morning little more interesting.. Try this vegetable masala idli. Advantage is it is kids' favorite ( those who don't like regular idli would like this masala idli) also you can add all kinds of chopped vegetables in the idli batter to make it nutritious.
Prepare the idli batter as usual. I have soaked one cup urad dal for four hours and grinded adding required water. Then mixed with two cups idli rava and prepared batter of thick consistency. Over night left for fermentation. Morning add salt, grated carrot, coriander, green chilli, chopped onions with grated ginger. Season with mustard and cumin seeds. Mix the batter well and put in idli plates and prepare idli as usual. Colourful masala and vegetables filled idli is ready to serve with chutney and sambar!
